They're Baaaaaackstreet

The Backstreet Boys are back, if you consider "releasing a new album" the new back. It has a new sound, both discribed as "Backstreet Boys + Matchbox Twenty + Goo Goo Dolls + Train", but also "the group has ditched meaningless lyrics and pleasant pop for songs about the war in Iraq and social issues." Want to sample this delight?

Right. Because the first thing I think of when I think Matchbox Twenty and The Goo Goo Dolls is meaningful, socially responsible lyrics. Collaborators on the album include Darren Hayes ( Saveage Garden ) and Boys II Men, both of which had been presumed dead since 1992.
